Oh! What a Lovely War (1969) Joining an impressive list of
British stars, Dirk had a cameo role (Stephen) in Richard
Attenborough's treatment of the Joan Littlewood play,
shot almost entirely on Brighton's West Pier. Taking part
was consistent with the anti-war sentiments Dirk expressed
often in his books, drawings, interviews and, most prominently,
King and Country.
